FYI for those of you planning on using an iMac in conjunction with Aperture and Photoshop (to be fair, I am using CS2 so Rosetta is a factor here).

I have 4GB of RAM installed on a 2.4 24" machine. After a day of using both programs with Mail and Safari also open, here are the memory specs (an awful lot of page outs for 4GB of RAM). I can tell you that 2GB won't cut it (tried it).

Maybe the CS2 thing was the problem?

I was running CS3 and Aperture on a 2GB 2GHz machine and it ran pretty quickly.

Safari is your problem, it has a memory leak.

Nah, it's an Aperture/Rosetta are memory hogs problem because I still get high page out ratios, even when Safari is not being used. ;)

Just posting a general observation, really, for anyone using CS2 and Aperture. Two gigs of RAM really don't cut it.
