iMac and Logic 9 config

I've saved £2500 to buy a top of the range 27" iMac and I already own a copy of Logic 9, but I just need some help building a suitable machine. I'll ony be using my new imac for Logic 9 and maybe a few games of Starcraft.

Is it necessary to have the i7, or will the i5 be more than capable when using Logic?

Will the SSD option give me any benefits?

Is 8GB of ram enough? (it was for my old PC, but I have no idea on the mac)

By the way I produce Drum n Bass, so I've only ever used sotware to get the right sound, so no live instruments etc.

Any help would be more than appreciated.

Oh, hey, I also run Logic 9 on iMac Electronic music as well (Not Drum & Bass though).

Anyway, Logic definitely benefits from multiple cores. So upto whether you want to run Logic on 4 cores or 4 + 4 virtual cores.

SSD is a nice but very expensive option. If you use a lot of audio tracks in your music, this sounds like good investment. If it's MIDI data mostly, I wouldn't spend all that money on SSD. I'd rather invest the money into some new soft synths or effects

8Gb is large enough if you run Logic in 32-bit mode, because it'll never use that much memory anyway.

I thought 8GB was enough as my PC barely breaks a sweat, but I just wanted to know for sure

I think I'll add the i7, but leave out the SSD option, and with the remaining money I'll buy some new monitors.
