I cannot believe it only took three days to ship this thing from Singapore to New Jersey.

I'm beyond thrilled. Got the 24" 3.06, 1T model. I have 4g of ram on order from Crucial which should be here by the end of the week.

I also have Apple TV on order which should be here this week also. (Refurb)

Anyway - the screen is stunning, the wireless keyboard is awesome....just as I knew it would be.

This new setup replaces my 5 year old 15" MacBook. It still works great (aside from the dead battery), but after 5 years I think I deserve a shiney, new iMac.

I'm over-the-moon right now!

That's pretty fast.

Nice specs. That should hold you over for a couple of months :D

No, seriously, nice system. Sounds like you went all out on your customizing :D

Yes I think this will last a while. In fact, it has to! This is last big investment Steve is getting out of me for quite a while.

I think I hear him now rolling around on a bed of cash somewhere.

Congrats on the new Mac, I am assuming that you meant a PowerBook and not a MacBook, haha. Sounds like you are going to have one kick-ass setup once the 4GB of RAM and :apple:TV arrive.

Nice Nice, its like love at first sight. is this your first apple product?

Yes, I meant my old PowerBook. Duh on me.

No I've owned Macs for years - going back to when they were beige boxes. Seems like light-years ago.

I don't think I'll be posting any pics, since I don't have a nice desk for it, and for the moment, this baby is sitting in the livingroom on my coffeetable.
One of the perks of not being married! hehe

To the OP:

Congrats:):p:):p

Mine arrived yesterday too and this is my first post from my new 24" 3.06ghz 8800GS 500Gb.

It is truly a beautiful machine! The screen is fine - much to my relief. There is a little dimming in the corners but you really don't notice it.

Just finding it weird moving from Windows to Mac. Lots of things are slightly different but I think it'll get easier soon.

Have you already figured out how you got along without it? Took me...about a day....

Congrats, you have the envy of the rest of us.

Was this from original purchase date?

If so, I really have something to look forward to. I was originally just going to get a base version for the apple store but if it's only 3 days, I can wait.

Yes it arrived 3 days from the order date. I think the trick is to make sure you order early in the morning, considering the order is processed in California. Also don't order on a Friday, since it could get tied up over the weekend.

Good luck!
