Hi.

I gather there've been more than a few headaches getting working video drivers for the ATI 4850 in the iMac (windows side). A few posts have said that version 8.661 of the AMD driver (Catalyst 9.10) works, but other versions including newer ones, don't.

Anyone able to confirm if this is still the case? More specifically, has anyone tried to install the latest Catalyst Mobility Display Drivers (10.6)?

Is it upon installing windows7? Because if so, apple has an article about that on their very own site.

After I successfully got windows7 running, I installed the latest drivers for the mobility 4850, but they didn't improve my gaming performance at all.

Will try and find the article you mention.

As regards not improving performance, while that's unfortunate it's good to hear they didn't bork things. I presume you mean the 10.6 drivers? Anyway will check apple site as you suggest. Thanks.

EDIT: Ok, when you say "upon installing" I'm guessing you're talking about that black screen problem, where you need to add some drivers or something on a USB stick. No I was just wondering about updating the old bootcamp video card drivers once everything is all installed. Again, pleased to hear installing the latest mobility drivers didn't make anything explode, so will try that myself when I can.
