So I just got back to my desk after an hour away and tried waking up my iMac by tapping a key on the keyboard. Nothing happened for longer than usual, and then a blue screen appeared. I haven't seen this before but it didn't look good. There was also some weird pixel thing going on across the upper left, as seen in the picture below.
I noticed that one of my external thunderbolt monitors had come unplugged, probably from when I cleaned the screen with a cloth several hours prior. I plugged the monitor back in, shut down the iMac and rebooted.
Everything seems normal now, but I'm not sure why this happened. Is it a sign of more to come? Is it possible the monitor disconnecting could have confused the video card or something? The computer is a 2015 27" 5K, so not old in other words.
Any reason this might have happened? Any other thoughts or ideas?
Thanks,
Andrew
