Hi all,

I have a mid-2010 iMac, and have recently been gifted a Magic Trackpad 1. But I can't get it to connect, the iMac simply can't find the Trackpad. I've tried everything - holding the the power button to make it discoverable, resetting SMC, PRAM, reseting the bluetooth module, etc.. The Trackpad on the other hand connects just fine to my Macbook Air. The iMac also can't find other Bluetooth devices (such as my phone).

Any thoughts on what to do next? Could the bluetooth module simply not be functioning?

Thanks,

Probably. Have you ever opened it? Maybe you messed up the antenna cable

Thanks for your response. I have indeed opened it, but I'm pretty sure I didn't touch the bluetooth antenna cable. I really don't want to open-up the iMac again though, so I might just get a cheap bluetooth dongle.
