iMac Bondi Blue help

I have a iMac Bondi Blue 233Mhz 128mb's of ram and 6mb video ram with 27gb HD from a G4 tower. I have ran 9.2.2 and 10.2.8 but for some reason when I wrote zeros to the HD then tried to install 10.3 it will install then say after about an hour to install "Installation Failed" It was being installed withing the first 8gb's of the hd so wtf is going on? Anyone got any good ideas?

Okay, screw OS X then. I'll just install Ubuntu lol. I need a OS that I can just install, without another computer or without swapping parts.
