2010 27" iMac. I'm positioning it to be the controlling hub of a home media setup that I'm creating. I'm working in a Boot Camp Vista environment as Vista provides me the thumbnails I need to get my data organized, where Mac OS wants me to manually generate the thumbnails (which I will do eventually anyway, but I need to get the data where I want it first).
My problem is this. The iMac's display is insanely bright. Even at halfway brightness it's enough to irritate me sometimes. So I drop it down to one notch using the keyboard; fine and good. If the display goes to sleep or to screensaver, it's going back to maximum brightness when I move the mouse to bring it back out. It's quite annoying, because I can't seem to find where I can disable this behavior. I want it to go to sleep and screensaver when the timer tells it to, in order to preserve the screen properly. But I need it to stay at the brightness setting I set.
Any clues?
EDIT: Actually nevermind, I think I see the problem. The BootCamp drivers are not aligned with the Windows power management settings. When the keyboard brightness is adjusted it is not actually adjusting the display brightness for Windows. Manually setting this to the lowest setting *hopefully* should fix the issue, in case anyone else experiences this phenom.
