Hello,

I have been experiencing issue for weeks now where my iMac 27" 2020 would be crashing randomly.

Today there was an update so I thought I would install it but then it crashed during the install and then it rebooted multiple times and I forced it to shutdown and now it's stuck in the middle of the progress bar.

I'm not sure if that's normal and that the update will take a long time or if my computer is ****ed up now.

Update: it finally booted and I already assume the update didn't fix anything because it crashed already, lol

Hello, thank you, I tried to do the booting + D to run a test on the Mac and it didn't find any issue.
I have the same computer and the same issue since the most recent update.

It took several force quits to get the computer booted. Then, after entering my password, login took so long that I saw a progress bar which hung at 80%. After another force quit in was able to reboot and login. But login took an excessive amount of time. Computer operates normally once logged in.

I then ran disk utility and there were no issues. How do we report this to Apple?

Honestly I'm not sure, do you also experience random crashes?

If I do, they are not to the point that I’ve noticed. I have a decently high tolerance for random bugs, but the login hanging is something I will have to deal with several times a day if it’s persistent. Although, it just now unlocked immediately (no hang) using my watch. I’ll keep this thread posted if this becomes an ongoing problem and most likely report it somehow.

Mmh this issue only occurred once, when updating to the latest version
