I have a REV A 17" Intel iMac (with mini dvi) and it's connected to my Viera LCD via HDMI. The problem is, even when the TV is off I can no longer use F14/F15 to adjust the brightness of my iMac. The only two [annoying] ways to adjust the brightness are
1. Open system preferences, click displays, imac and adjust the slider.
OR
2. Go to the menu bar, select "turn off mirroring", then use F14/F15, then turn it back on so that all my windows are visible again. (When mirroring is off, I think it assumes it has spanned half my apps onto the other screen, which doesn't exist because the TV is off.)
Is there a solution to this? (Be it a fix or another shortcut to adjusting brightness.)
