iMac burning WAY too slow

I have a brand new 20" iMac Core Duo and I am having a problem burning DVDs. I have FujiFilm 16X DVDs and when i put it in, Disk Utility says the max speed it can be burnt at is 2X. What's wrong?

Have you tried other discs? I have HP 4x DVD+RW discs they burn at 2x while my TDK ones burn at 4x.

Yep have this exact same problem with the new 16X fujifilm DVD-R discs
the 8x ones work at full speed.
