After my iMac C2D froze while I was browsing the internet, I turned it off and proceeded to turn it back on. When I hit the power button, all that happened was the white light in the right hand corner became solid. The fan and hard drive were on, but the display was black.

I tried to reset the PRAM, but the computer does not seem to recognize any keyboard actions. I unplugged the computer and re-plugged it in, but it is still doing the same thing. When I tried to put in the Apple Restore Disk, the DVD drive would not insert the DVD.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Turn it off and leave it unplugged from the power for thirty seconds or so. Then plug it back in and see if it works. What sort of keyboard do you have? :)

Sounds like what happened to my imac. I took it to the store and they told me they replaced a memory chip

Fixed

I took it to the Apple Store and they said that the logic board had failed and would take a few days to replace. Thanks for your help.
