my imac recently just won't wake up from sleep. while others with similar problems will just have to restart their computers to fix this, it did not work for me. i left it to sleep overnight, won't wake up, so i reseted. unfortunately, there was a chime but the screen is just blank. i tried reseting smc, zapping the pram and all sorts of troubleshooting. i even tried removing the ram and reinstalling it which worked but only until the next day. now, even if i remove and reinstall the ram, the imac refuses to turn on it's screen. funny thing though, i can control it via my ipod(vnc lite) but after a few minutes, the system will lock up altogether.
i'm still under the warranty period but i'm afraid the imac will magically turn on like normal when i take it to apple and thus causing them to say that nothing is wrong. can anyone pinpoint what's the problem? i ruled out faulty ram because i tried it with both aftermarket and original ram but to no avail(though both of them might decide to break at the same time).
