Hello mac users.
I need a bit of advice can you help. First of all lets start with I had a imac 2013 model i5 1TB old style hard drive 24gb ram 2gb geforce 775. I used to edit final cut pro videos for youtube and found the system quick and snappy. But over time thought the imac i5 would at some point HD would fail.
So I decided to sell it and get a mac pro 4 core xeon 3.7ghz 64gb ram ssd drive and d300 duel amd graphics 2x2gb. But after using the mac pro decided it felt slow while render times was a little quicker export times were 3 times slower.
So I decided the mac pro just felt like a less reliable system I did have mavericks installed on both. The mac pro just seemed to crash from time to time it could have been the ram I suppose it seemed when chrome loaded the system crashed some times when I turned it on. I had upgraded the ram from 24gb of apple ram to 64gb of samsung ram. But if I waited a few hours or perhaps a day the system would load up properly and would not crash. I wonder could this be a ram issue? or could it be a ssd issue as I bought a refurbished 512gb ssd apple drive.
Any way after buying the mac pro I decided to go back to my imac but since I sold the i5 imac I decided to buy a second hand more powerful system a i7 2013 27 inch imac 2gb geforce graphics 1tb fusion drive. Basically went back to what I had before. I installed my mavericks backup on to the mac every thing works fine the reason I use this older OS is due to my apps. Some apps will not work on the newer os such as cs6 adobe suite. Any way the reason for writing this is I have noticed during export and render I can here a ticking noise is this normal as any one got any ideas on this? The imac goes quite when the imac stops render or export .
One last question can any one also tell me if my mac pro problems is normal what happens is at some point chrome will crash with all tabs not working and I see a spinning wheel for ages. I have to reset the mac it keeps doing the same thing even if I click on restore tabs nothing happens like the mouse curser will not work.
I did try to go to recover but every time I put the router password in it keeps rejecting the correct password for no reason. I tried this 20 times checked password and it was correct. I waited about 3 hours turned the mac pro back on and it starts to work as normal this seems strange.
Please help thanks
