I have benefited in the past from people in the MBP forums who would post their display model and a, for example, Spyder Pro screen calibration color profile.

Unfortunately I've been unable to find the same type of thread for the iMac's but I'm sure there are people out there who have the need to use a calibrator on their display.

Has anyone seen a thread on that for the new iMac's?

well, i should be getting an imac within 3 weeks, and i use the spyder pro 3 so i can post my profile if you wish

Cool, if more people start posting their calibrator profiles I can organize it in the opening post.

Just include the display model and what system was used to get the color profile.

To get your display model:

1. Open System Preferences
2. Open Display
3. Click Color
4. Select "iMac"
5. Click Open Profile
6. Select #17 "Apple display make and model information"
7. Identify Model

Mine is 9CBC

you cant calibrate!

only trouble is, the spyder or eye-one-match wont calibrate the iMac properly, yes you can set gamma at 2.2 after turning brightness down by about 50% and thats about it.
you cant get it down to the industry standard of 120, lowest the iMac will go is 145.
I tried color-eyes but no luck. The only external calibrator that will work is the colormunki, ( supposedly)?

best.
