iMac color vs. MBA

I was wondering if there's anyway to change my 24"" Aluminum iMac color profile to match that of my new RevB MacBook Air. I know its LCD vs LED, but my MacBook Air's screen is so perfectly accurate to the point that I feel depressed whenever i get on my iMac. Brightness is also a factor. My iMac is dimmer than the MBA. I've accepted this, but as a graphic designer, I'm hoping that there is still hope for my iMac's color.

Basically my iMac is more yellowish (and kinda gross when compared to the MBA), than the the "cooler" look of my MBA.

It's not LCD vs LED. It's cathode lit LCD vs LED lit LCD.

Try dimming your Air's screen to a comparable brightness. At first it seems dull, but after a minute or two your eyes adjust and it looks good again.

I mentioned that brightness wasn't the issue. It's the color. Plus, I enjoy the brilliance of the MBA. My iMac has a year or so left before I replace it. But that's 1 year of productivity I want to optimize.

How do I get the color to match the accuracy of the MBA?

My iMac is perfect but it hurts my eyes sometimes even on low. However, the colors are vibrant and accurate out of the box. I had to calibrate my revB MBA in order to be as good as my iMac (the MBA was a bit washed out).

One thing that is strange is that no matter what profile I chose on my iMac, it goes back to the original profile which is called iMac. I tried PRAM reset but nothing changed. However, I am happy with it so I am not worried about why it doesn't change (unless someone is dying to let me know )

I dont think calibrating it is the solution, at least i cant seem to get an accurate calibration. It always seems to get too blue. Is there a color profile i can d/l somewhere, or something?

Also, If my screen isn't as bright as it sounds like it should be, is it maybe just a warranty issue, like a faulty backlight or panel?

Here are a couple of pics to help see my situation. Its hard to tell the luminosity difference, but the color is definitely visible in the high angle shot.
