Has anyone tried using an old iMac Core Duo 2006 as iTunes Media server for Apple TV's? I have one and thinking about using it for serving ATV 3,4. iMac will be connected via Ethernet directly to Airport AC. It's just sitting at home and rarely used as a Guest Computer. Feedback appreciated.

Should work fine. I have 2006 C2D model that I use for the exact same thing.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give it a go then. I have it currently set to sleep within 5 of non use to help lessen the waste of electricity. As I recall these aren't as efficient as current models, but do use less power than the old iMac G5 models. Sleeping shouldn't consume or waste too much electricity.
