I just got my 17" iMac last Sunday and I was so happy. After transferring all of my stuff from my iBook (music, photos, etc), I tried to install WoW and the Superdrive started making a ton of weird and loud noises. Argh. Then, you had to keep trying to put the CD in, cuz it kept spitting them back out. So I talked to an Apple agent online and they told me to "Verify disk permissions" and repair them. So far, so good but it wasn't too long before it acted up again. The next agent told me to hold down Apple, Option, P and R upon boot up and that I would hear 2 chimes. This reset the NVRAM (?) . The Superdrive worked again for a few more hours and now it is doing the same thing.
So I gotta take it back to the Apple store tomorrow and exchange it out. All that time I spent on transferring things and getting things the way I wanted them . . .
Anyone had this problem or heard of it?
BTW, I was in the middle of creating a small review podcasts so be looking for that!
