Yesterday I noticed this, a new NVIDIA graphics driver came out and under the release highlights it read:
Beta support on GeForce GTX GPUs for external graphics over Thunderbolt 3

Now it is very likely for the new iMac to have TB3 support. And finally being able to use external GPU's over ThunderBolt would be great.

You think this would be supported under OS X? Or even able to run external GPU's in Bootcamp?

Also possibly could lead to a new Thunderbolt display?

OS X would require to have the support built into the operating system to use an external TB3-eGPU. If not, it would only work via Windows in Bootcamp on a TB3-equipped Mac. What NVIDIA supports via their drivers is irrelevant to OS X as they're written for Windows only.
