Hello,
my iMac is running Mac OS X 10.13.6. It has an issue where it crashes quite often, this is always at random, I cannot seem to find a reason for it. After crashing/shutting down, it restarts right away and seems to be working as normal again.

Here is an EtreCheck Report: https://pastebin.com/nn5vKK9w
Thank you!

A quick note, it just crashed again, and after looking at the report, I see that it says "Invalid Element linkage for..."

It would help if you told us WHAT YEAR the iMac is and what screen size it has.

Is the RAM inside it original (from the factory), or has it been replaced?

If it has been replaced, do you have the original RAM?

If you have the original RAM, you might try putting it back in to see if that changes anything.

The iMac is Late 2009, 21 inch. I have added 4 GB RAM to it, so it now has 8 GB. (Both 2 x 2 GB factory RAM and 2 x 2 GB RAM replaced).

I will try switching up the RAM to see if that helps.

I also refrained from saying the year because the response I would then get is that it is too old... I know that, but I would like to still fix it.

After removing the third-party RAM and using only the RAM that came with the Mac (4GB), the Mac doesn't restart that often anymore, but it still sometimes restarts. I guess that part of the issue was solved with fixing the RAM, but there must be something else, as it still unexpectedly restarts once in a while.

Could it be that your hard drive is failing? Is that the original drive?

As I mentioned in another thread you started, it's not worth putting any more money into a 2009 iMac.

If there's any way you can... it's time to start looking for a replacement.
