Hey guys! I was wondering where you all thought the best place to get RAM for the current gen iMac. I have the quad core i7, it takes ddr3 1333mhz. Anyone know of the best, and or the cheapest places to get this kind of RAM? Any other RAM buying tips for this machine would also be welcome.

Be careful. I bought my last ram upgrade from Crucial.

It ended up dying. The tech said that it would work fin with a PC but that macs test more areas in ram and crucial isnt great for macs.

The 4G I have in ram now is apple brand. about $79 a 2 gig Dimm

Never any problem with Crucial RAM here. I've used it in 4 of 5 Macs I've done memory upgrades on, with the 5th getting RAM from OWC. Crucial is a division of Micron, which is a RAM manufacturer.

I have a bias towards Apacer memory - never had a single problem, always fast and reliable. Got it in my iMac 20inch for the last 6months, no complaints here.

I ordered an iMac with 8 GB of RAM from Apple's online store.

However, I am having buyer's remorse. Should I instead buy 16 GB from Crucial? They're selling 8GB kits for $260. How much of a difference would all that RAM make outside of ginormous Photoshop projects, which I do only from time to time?
