iMac default 16 GB config from Apple

this is a fairly simple question for anyone who had purchased the 16 Gb iMac 27 inch: does the default machine come with 2 x 8GB sticks, or 4 x 4GB dimms? I cant find an answer anywhere. I wanna know because the latter config would result in 8 GB less ram if i purchased my own additional 32 GB ram set.

If you are going to add your own RAM, why buy more than 8 from Apple? It's cheaper elsewhere.

Thats good. 4 x 4 gb would be a pain in the ass. I dont wanna have to throw away two dimms
