iMac + Dell 2405FPW with Dell as primary?

Can I use my Dell monitor as the primary display, and use the 17" iMac display as a secondary display?

Also (I'll just throw this question in here), can I turn the iMac display off while using the Dell?

I tried searching but me and this sites search features aren't exactly best friends.

Not sure about turning off the iMac display - probably not, but you can use the 2405 as the primary. Go into the display preferences, so you can see the diagram of the two monitors side by side. Then, drag the menubar from one to the other.

And damn about not being able to turn the iMac display off. It'll be really irritating watching a movie with a bright light coming from the iMac (could probably just turn the brightness down, but still).

FWIW Front Row turns off your secondary display when you watch a video.

Not so if you watch the same movie in QT.

Also you can specify which display QT should go full screen on independent of which display is primary...

Sorry for bumping this.

I've finally gotten my iMac, and I love it! The only problem I'm having is what I posted earlier. It's really annoying to watch a movie at night with the light coming from the iMac.

Whenever I'm watching a movie I'll turn down the brightness to the lowest level and use a black background. But it is kind of annoying having to do it all the time. Could anyone help me make an AppleScript or something to do this automatically, and then back to normal again? Is there any other solution?
