What makes the display to be considered High Def? And are the iMac displays High Def? Just curious.
I noticed the 23" and 30" Apple cinema displays are advertised as HD but not the 20"
Thanks

The 24" iMac is considered HD. High Definition means a screen resolution of 1920x1080 or greater (even though 1280x720 is considered HD in televisions). The 20" ACD and iMac are 1680x1050 resolution.

It is. 1920x1080 is full HD (i.e. 1080p), that is all.

Thanks. Definitely makes sense. On a display as small as a computer has I doubt you'd see a difference between 1080 (or 1050) and 720 anyway, so it's really moot. I was just wondering after that comment whether there was some bizarre-o standard put out by one of the many standards organizations that would make such a distinction.

You're right. As far as I'm aware, you will only see the difference 1080p has to offer in a much larger display than either the iMac or MacBook. If the display has a lower pixel resolution than 1980 x 1080, then I can't understand the importance of 1080p.
