hey, i have owned my imac 20" non intel for a bit over a year i have had not one single problem until yesterday, My imac screen failed to turn of after my settings "turn of display after 15min". Just today i went to ABOUT THIS MAC AND MORE INFO TO SEE MY POWER SETTINGS and i was unable to click on it.


?

does anyone know what is wrong.

See if System Profiler is present in your Applications/Utilities folder. That is what the About This Mac dialog wants to run.

yes the system profiler is located in the utilities. How do i fix it now?

okay when you told me to open system profiler i did, then i closed it and checked it it worked from "about this mac" and it did.

I dont know what caused this to happen?

Who knows? Somewhere, somehow, a table lost track of that entry. This kind of thing occasionally happens with file associations too. Have you used any cache or settings cleaners in the past little while? Or maybe the Mac went out partying this weekend and didn't tell you, and now it has a hangover?
