Hello,

My 17inch Intel iMac has does not always start up when I turn it on, maybe 1/100 times it will actually power up.

Has anyone had similar problems?

Thanks in advance

Please be more specific.

1. You press the button but nothing happens
2. You press and hear fans but nothing else
3. You press and it starts but shuts down almost immediately
4. You press and it starts but hangs somewhere and you have to force it to shut down

You press the button, don't hear the fan, but there's a powering up sound inside of the machine.

I would say do a SMC reset but that clearly won't help. Must be something wrong with the logic board and/or the display. I'd try to book an appointment with an Apple store or go see nearby AASP.
