iMac don't connect with magic mouse

hi everyone,
i have a big problem to connect my magic mouse with my Imac (late 2009)
If i turned on my iMac and turned on bluetooth, and turned on also my magic mouse nothing happens only a search circle is buzzy to find bluetooth devices .... but iMac don't find anything even my new magic mouse and the battery's are fully uploaded??
Is there a way to fix this problem?

i reinstall El Capitan on my iMac early 2009 and the problem is still the same, sometime he can connect my magic mouse but the range is very small and sometimes he can't find the mouse, even the battery are 100 % full charged (duracel) ....
what can i do more??
maybe the bluetooth card is damage?
i see also this in the terminal :

When did you last take an alcohol swab and clean off the contacts inside your Magic Mouse?
They do get dirty, and 3 volts needs a good connection to get through.

Also, have you tried moving your Mac, keyboard etc. in relation to your mouse? They contain metal components that can cause dead spots in Bluetooth reception.

hi Partron 22, yes i tried all of it like you ask, but nothing works, the magic mouse is new and the iMac is second hand ... i am sure the bluetooth module is damage ....
i also contact www.leapp.be for repair but they say its not possible anymore to fix it cause the don't have the right modules for it, its to old this iMac

You can buy USB->Bluetooth plugins for Macs.
My experience with them is that some models work, some don't.
Had a Belkin module working for me a few years back on an old Mac Mini.
Don't know if they've changed the design since then or not.
In the end, corded mouse is not such a terrible burden to bear, if needed.

i know you can use usb bluetooth plug-ins,i have one here and i use it together with my magic mouse and it worked but when the iMac comes out the sleep mode the magic mouse did not worked anymore ... the only solution was to unplug the bluetooth stick and plug-in again and the mouse worked again???
how can you fixed this?

They can be cranky that way. Sometimes just turning Bluetooth off and on, from the menu bar, can fix the problem.
A little AppleScript app could do that for you.

It's not magic mouse......it's mickey mouse.

the only problem my opinion is the bluetooth card or module inside the iMac, its broken

hi people i fix the problem, i buy a new usb bluetooth adapter and the magic mouse works fine now, problem solved!
the other bluetooth adapter was 1.1 and i needed 2.1 version

I had this same problem. SIMPLE SIMPLE answer is that if it is an older generation magic mouse (AA battery version) it can only be paired with one device. Take it to any device it is already paired with, go to system preferences /mouse/set up bluetooth mouse button (at bottom right) and unpair and disconnect it. Then go back to iMac and PRESTO it's suddenly "discoverable"
