I have dual monitors set up with my Imac, one monitor is my TV and one is my Imac. I set my TV up as a second monitor because sometimes I like to watch my movies which are on my Imac on a bigger screen and it is quite convieniant to just drag the movie into the TV monitor and watch it on the big screen.
One thing that has been bothering me is that even when I have my TV off or on another input my Imac still recognizes the TV is hooked up to it and my mouse will still go off the screen onto the TV monitor which is not on. I have searched but there is no way I can find which will allow me to make my Imac ignore the TV while it is still physically plugged into my imac, the only way I can have it ignore the tv is actually unplugging the mini-dvi from the back of my imac.
I tried to mirror the display which in theory should work but since my tv has 1920x1080 resolution and my Imac has 1920x1200 when I mirror the display it alters the resolution of my Imac screen to a resolution that is compatible with the TV as well therefore my whole Imac screen doesn't get used and it kind of looks like letter box format. I tried to manually change the resolution back to the normal 1920x1200 but it won't work and I am stuck in letter box mode while using the mirroring option.
So what I want to know is, is there a way for me to make my computer ignore my second display without having to unplug the display or at least make it so my mouse won't go off into the abyss when it goes to the edge of the screen?
