I have a new 20" iMac Duo with 2 gigs of ram. I've been doing a lot of work in Final Cut Studio and read some where that it was possible to take the ram up to 4GB. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

wow, I checked crucial & ramjet and they don't even sell a single 2gig stick.... how does one even find 2 (2 gig) sticks?

Serious if you need more Ram you need more power all round, get a Powermac now or wait for the new Intel ones :)

Yeah, with the money it takes to get 2x2G sticks of ram, you might as well go with a powermac, or the intel ones of course.

Lets see what i could get for the cost of one 2 GB RAM stick-
a fully loaded MB
almost a MBP, or Powermac G5.
Do they have a ticker of how many of those they have sold? It must be like 2.

Hey you think the 2gb sticks are expensive have a look at the 4GB sticks on dell

Their new Precision 690 can be ordered with 32gb Ram. 8X 4gb sticks and check this, the upgrade is cop this:

$53000 yes $53000. check the site

Edit: sorry thats in AU dollars so in US dollars thats about 38-42000

The G5 iMac can accept up to 2.5Gb of RAM but according to the Apple page, the iMac Core Duo can only take 2Gb.

Only the Revision C iMac G5 (iSight) takes 2.5 GB of RAM. The iMac G5 iSight has 512 soldered to the motherboard and one empty SO-DIMM slot. The Revision A and B iMac G5's each have two full size DDR RAM slots, and can accomodate up to 2 GB of RAM (2x1GB).
