Imac early 2006 hard drive swap to early 2007

HI i have a hard drive from a early 2006 imac can i put it into a early 2007 Imac as a plug and play?
The hard drive has the OS and is fully functioning on a early 2006 will it just work on a 2007?
Or do i have to reload the OS after the swap?
