I would like to upgrade my 24" iMac (Early 2009) from 640gb to 1tb+.

So any advice on a reliable/compatible drive for my iMac - I would like to stay clear of the "green" drives as they seem to have a slightly higher failure rate than the standard drives.

Thanks in advance

Any 3.5" SATA drive will work. If you don't want sub-7200rpm drives, then take a look at Hitachis. The 2TB option in iMacs is Hitachi and they offer the best priced 7200rpm 2TB drives.
