iMac early 2009 - no power/signs of life

I've acquired an iMac Intel 20" EMC 2266 2.66 GHz (early 2009) which doesn't work.
It has no power at all, does absolutely zilch.
No lights, no fans, no sign of life at all.

So I guess i'll be opening it up to see what the score is and try to troublshoot and fix it possible.
So does anyone have any ideas what the most likely issue(s) will be?

I don't have an apple keyboard to connect to it, only a standard "windows" USB keyboard.

When there's "no power", I'd look towards the power supply...

See if it will startup from an external hard drive. The iMacs in my profile pic are 2009 vintage and their HDs are failing so I use an external LaCie rugged hard drive to keep them functional.

Certainly sounds like the PSU a replacement can be sourced for around £30. Do not purchase from the iFixit tutorial below as it is expensive source from elsewhere such as eBay

Before you open it up to check the PSU, check the fuse in the plug
