Guys I'm having a huge headache

I removed my hard drive and installed a new one

Hard drive was from a Windows laptop. When I first turned the mac on it booted into Windows after a couple of probation signs.

I attempted to install El captain via a USB stick..

When it attempts to load it comes up with the probation sign..

I then did a verbose mode and got the following error please help me as I can't get into recovery mode at all.. If I try internet recovery I get the same..

I recieve this error as in the picture

I was thinking of trying a Yosemite USB installer. Any ideas?

Crazy thing is even if I take out the hard drive I get the same error, normally without a hard drive you'd expect the folder sign. So I think the error is abit more sinister?? Please help me guys

Not sure. If I could what would that mean? Sorry I'm not as technical as some people on here! I just don't understand. I'm planning on another hard drive tomorrow to see whether it's my hard drive

If you didn’t want to open up the machine again and if you could boot off a Windows DVD or boot USB you could try using it to wipe the disk completely using command prompt.

If trying a new disk, hook it up to a PC/Mac and delete the partitions off it before installing it. An SSD would give much better performance than a hard drive.

What should I format the disk as?

Would you say from what I've said it sounds as though it maybe a major issue?

I once tried booting a Linux NAS into Windows and it worked, however when I wanted to go back I needed to wipe the partitions off the disk to get it to boot up properly.

Wiping the partitions off the disk so it appears to be a new blank unformatted disk should be enough.

Once the disk is wiped you should be able to use a bootable Mac OS X USB Installer or Internet Recovery to format the disk and install Mac OS X

Hopefully, what's really odd is when I removed the hard drive I was still getting the same probation sign. I didn't do the verbose mode then? Any ideas what would cause that? It's just extremely odd
