Hi all,
I want to buy an imac, 3.06GHz with 4G ram which will be used for editing in HDV (weddings mostly) with Final cut pro (Probably Studio2 and not express) and use Photoshop.

I want to know if the power of that imac will be enough or i must focus on MacPro with some hundred $ more?

Thanx in advance!

Yiannis

The iMac packs enough power to do what you are talking about. Maxing out the ram is always a good idea when it comes to video editing. Just keep in mind that your exports will go a bit slower on the iMac and RT Extreme may lose a few frames in playback previews as opposed to the Mac Pro. It should work great for you though.

The iMac you're thinking about will be up to the task. Keep in mind though, the Mac Pro will last you longer, and it might not be a bad idea to have an octo core computer when Snow Leopard rolls around.
