So here it is, 5:fifty something AM I am getting ready for school and I am checking my normal news sites and MR.
I am using the imac on the sofa and its on the coffee table.
I have a long cord plugged into my imac for my mouse (standard bt mouse has no scrolly ball)

I hear my bagel pop up so I jump up to get it.
My toe catches on the mouse cord, I fall on the ground, being caught by my wrist (sprained i think)

To my suprise I see my iMac face down on the ground wedged between the wooden table's drawer's protruding knob and my carpet.

I shed a tear of disbelief.
Plug the power cord back in, and here it is, 6:05 and my baby is working.
Not a scratch on her.

(a splint for my wrist may be in order)

:)

Well, everyone here at MR have a good morning, and I have to get ready for school.
:)

First, smack yourself for your carelessness. Then pat your iMac's back for being so brave and strong.

Good job to your iMac.

LUCKY!!!!!

Last week at the apple store a 1yr pulled one of the kid station computers off. Nice bullet sized crack in the LCD. Which is why the manager told me he trys to get every parent of small kids to buy a wireless keyboard & mouse.

TG the kid was off to the side when he did it - he was small enough to have gotten hurt.

Back to you - :D Glad it's ok!!!!!

You sound like THE target audience for wireless technology :).

In any case, glad it still works...I can't imagine the horror you must've felt just before learning it was still functional.

Goodness, might be time for a portable if you drag the imac around putting it on coffee tables!

then again, the same thing would have happened ;)

...now that the picture's in my head though, my imac would look nice on my coffee table, and the screen would be at the perfect height when working on the couch...I'll write back in a week when I trip over a cable and a lone tear streams down my face like the native american in the littering ads...

I dont think a store can charge for this kind of damage, I think the store insurance company takes care of it.

Does that mean all those "you break it you buy it" signs that my mom menacingly translated into 5 years of allowance whenever we went into a store were all CRAP?? Years of therapy instead of the happy childhood of wanton product destruction that I craved, no, NEEDED??

This is worse than that whole Santa Claus business.

Lucky you! If my behemoth of a computer fell face first on the floor, I'd have to ask my lower floor neighbor to pick up the pieces... I'm glad nothing happened to the computer, and I hope your wrist gets better :)

I know the agonizing feeling just before you turn it back on and everything's working.

I just dropped my laptop yesterday when I tripped walking down the stairs too quickly...(with the battery popping out)...

It's a sigh of relief when you find out nothing is broken .

Shrug. When my parents were getting married, they went to look at china and flatware. My mom ended up taking out an entire display.

All of their wedding gift store credit was spent paying for the broken china.
