iMac flashes at startup and randomly restarts...

I'm using Google Chrome and getting a bunch of Aw Snap messages when web pages crash, then the iMac will just restart with the error messages. Additionally, when it restarts, the screen flashes... Could this have detail have anything to do with that I'm using a second monitor?? (I've had this iMac for about 2 months and the iMac I was using before (Late 2009) worked perfectly with the second screen.
