I need help. I was watching a movie on my iMac and this box popped up telling me to hard shutdown and restart my computer. Now I can't get it to turn on. When I press power it makes the start noise but the screen stays white. The apple doesn't pop up and it won't load. Trying to put in disks that came with my computer don't seem to work either.

You got a kernel panic. This can result from either a hardware failure, bad ram or stuck memory. Try and reset the PRAM. Command+Option+P+R. Hold down the key combo after the chime sounds when you press the power button. After the chime sounds again release the combo.
Also, please be more specific in your post title, just typing WTF, Help Please is against the forum rules. It says nothing about your problem and it forces people to have to click to see your problem is first. :)

Aside from the needed editing of the title, is there ever any text displayed during the panic? If the PRAM reset doesn't help, you should post it, so somebody might have some idea about what's going wrong.

Sorry bout title earlier.

"you need to restart your computer hold power the power button until it shuts off, then press the power button again"

took a pic of that. Says it in 4 other languages.
Us there a way to post the pic from my iPhone?

Seems to have work for now. Is there any diagnostics I should do to help this not happen again. Like windows has defeat and scan disk. What do we do on osx?

You could run Verify Disk from Disk Utility to see if there are any problems with the hard drive. You could run the Apple Hardware Test that came with your iMac to see if there are any problems with any of the the hardware.
