Hello,

I have an Intel iMac (early 2007), that has had issues for many years. It started with my computer not being able to play videos, if a video was started it would become distorted and the Mac would freeze soon after. Later the computer would start to have other graphics issues including, but not limited to: horizontal lines across the screen, distorted triangles, pink/blue/yellow patches, and bad pixels.

Currently if the computer is booted up normally it is almost impossible to do anything because the computer will freeze with in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. When I say freeze I mean that the computer stops responding to mouse clicks and keyboard commands. I am still able to move the cursor and if music was playing it continues to play.

The only way I am able to reliably use the computer is if it is booted up in safe mode. When in safe mode most of the graphical issue disappear (except a few bad pixels) and it never freezes or crashes.

I have taken it into the Apple store a couple of times. The first time they said it was a bad hard drive and then they replaced it. That did not fix the problem so we brought it back and they said that there was nothing wrong with it, but kept it over night to run tests on it. When they returned they told us nothing but updated the OS from 10.4 to 10.5.

I would really like to be able to use the computer with out having it in safe mode all the time. I greatly appreciate any help that any one has to offer.

Thanks!
