Lately I've been having a problem where my imac is freezing to the point that i have to hold in the power button and restart it manually. When the computer freezes the only thing that works is the pointer when i move the mouse. I can't even CMD-option-esc to force close any apps running. The only thing i've noticed is that i'm usually watching youtube (safari and chrome) when this happens although that could be a coincidence. Any way I can diagnose to see what the problem could be? I'm running yosemite on a 2007 imac.

Thank you.. i'll try that.. my imac came with the discs for leopard.. since then i have upgraded to yosemite.. not sure if that diagnostic disc would still work.. but i will give AHT a try. Thanks again
