hi
i have a wonderful 1.42GHz mac mini with 512 ram and 80Gb hard disk.

I just bought a imac G4 to use a a server at work and love it.

So i have been tossing around the idea of buying a 20 inch imac g4 1.25 uping the internal drive to 500Gb at my home and installing 1Gb of ram. The only thing is to secure funds for this i would need to sell my mac mini. So this is my question

Is it worth selling the mac mini for the imac g4 or should i keep it and forget about the imac. the other question in my mind is performace will the mini outperform the imac.

To give you a price to flip around the imac g4 is about 790.00 and i can probably sell the mini with the bndled software for about 1000.000 o i should be able to pay for most of the upgrades with this.

Oh and if anyone has a imac g4 20inch mode and wants to sell it let me now as well

I'd be curious to know what software you have installed on that mini that makes you think you'll be able to sell it for almost twice what it was worth when it was new.

But as for your question... I'd keep the mini. You can deck it out with 1GB of RAM and a minimate (or any standard external drive + FW/USB hub) for a couple hundred dollars, and you'll end up with a computer that's faster than that iMac you want.

I would also recommend you keep the mac mini, if its intel thats more of a reason to keep it.

Is that in US Dollars ? Do you own the software and will give them everything that came with it if not that is illegal. Also you can not sell academic versions of software.

Good luck... I have a brand new Mac Mini G4 1.5 (late 2005 build) with dual layer dvd+r, 512 ram, 80 GB , 64 MB video ram (instead of the 32). Which i will sell for $450-500 and nobody wants it. Its not even open!
