I'm looking to upgrade my iMac G4's memory from 256 MB to 1 GB (for complete specs look at signature.) What kind of memory should I use. In the About This Mac description it says it has SDRAM. Should I buy that kind or should I buy DIMM which is the kind that my friend told me I should buy.

Thanks for your help!

www.everymac.com

1. Look up your exact model and specs.

2. Go to ebay

3. Buy some old SDRAM (patience may be needed, but its out there)

Be sure to study some iMac G4 teardowns with photos....one of the memory sticks is easy to replace, the other requires a pretty good opening up of the iMac - and you'll need some thermal paste when you put it back together. I know - I did it a few months back

Thanks everyone!
I found a 512 MB stick of RAM on tigerdirect.com for 20 bucks and it says that its compatible with my mac.
