I have an iMac g4 800mhz. I bought it when they first came out. Up until now, I've really had no problems. However, now the machine won't sleep by itself. It dims, then goes black, but the fan and HD( i think) just keep spinning away. If I manually sleep it, then no problem.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I love my mac and I love it even more when it's working properly.

Which OS do you have on it? 10.2, 10.3, 10.4? Have you unchecked the option to sleep after a certain amount of time, closed the system preferences, then went back in and checked it again?

What have you changed since it last worked?
I'm running 10.3.9 I really don't know what I've changed since it last worked. I just recently noticed it and I don't think I've changed anything. I have energy saver set to put it to sleep after five minutes of inactivity.
