iMac G5 17 " helpppppppppppppppp

hi guys I need a second opinion for the iMAc of my sister it's a 17" iMac G5 and it HAS fan issues whenever it reaches 90 degress de mac shuts off,we have been trying to repair it but here,we cannot contact apple because we bought it through a friend in MIAMI and we dont have the receipt,and well the guy doesnt want to give us some support,(bad friends),so please guys we are stuck here,would you please be so kind to tell me if you have heard of something that i can do by myself to repair it ,i dont know maybe replace a part or something,because we have tried everything with apple and even with the guys who repair it here ,and they say that they cannot touch it because it was not bought here(Venezuela).I dont know maybe a part that reheats or something

please any help will be welcome

I'm not sure what the max temp is, but my iMac runs at about 50 degress C when fairly idle. Running at 90 degrees sounds a little too hot to me - hence the shut down.

X Resource Graph is a good tool it will show you the speeds of the fans and the cpu and hd temps - see if one of the 3 fans isn't spinning?

(or uou could try running the iMac with the back off - so you can see the fans)

well aparently the three fans are running because it makes a huge noise,and i have also open the back to see and they do run,it seems like something overheats it,but im not sure as to what does it,im gonna explode here with this thing i want to tear it open and remove everything to see what the f*** is happening with this comp. Of course im not gonna do it,but i think u guys understand the feeling(like throwing it out the window)

i cannot even insert the test drive cd because it runs for one minute and then goes to sleep because it overheats,it's really despairing,the condensers look fine,dont know what to do.

We have two of these where I work, and neither make very much noise. Both are fairly quiet. If you are getting a lot of noise, one of the fans might be hitting a cable or something. I've never had one open, so I can't tell you definitively what's going on. It might be worth your while to talk to a Mac genius at an Apple store, or even take it in for repair.

well the BIG problem is that i live in Venezuela,that's why i havent take it to an apple store,that's why im looking for some tech help

please let me know if you know of someone who has gotten to repair it (it's a rev A),seems to be an overheat issue
