Hello,

I am looking for advices.
I will open my iMac G5 to replace the hard drive and at the same time I would like to find a replacement solution for the speakers… Since a week or so they gives an horrible sound. It seems one or both are dead….

I have a dead 20 » non iSight G5 where I could take the speakers but they are not physically the same.

Or is it possible to take the speakers out of the enclosure and transfer them into the iSight iMac speakers enclosure ? Or is there something else I could do ?
I won’t find other iMac iSight speakers where I am 😥

Thanks

No, only if I buy a complete machine.
An eBay is a crazy place !
I paid 40€ for my imac, was in a very good state till I put the volume to high…
I am not ready to pay the price of the iMac just for the speakers.. I hoped someone already went the way I will go to have advices.

I will open that and try to extract the speakers and see if I can find replacement just for the speakers, if the speakers enclosure can be opened properly…
I can’t believe the original complete set is the only option….

thank you very much , my is an iMac 20” but the last iSigh model.

It’s not compatible. Such a broken iMac, I have one.

If the diameter of the speakers is the same as in the iSigh model one, maybe just the speaker is transferable if it can be taken out of the grey enclosure … I have to open both iMac to compare.
