Hello, IM selling my Imac G5 20" for 150 ( the cd/dvd drive doesn't work) and
I m trying to erase all content so its safe to sell. The problem is the cd drive doesn't work so I cant start up from the cd.... Any suggestions?

thanks.

Create a new admin account for the new owner, so that the new owner can create new accounts and such.
Log into that new account and delete your accounts via System Preferences > Accounts and also delete the accounts in the Users folder (Macintosh HD / Users), except that newly created account of course.
After that is done, empty the Trash.
Then go into Disk Utility, select your HDD (Macintosh HD normally) and click on the ERASE tab. Then click the ERASE FREE SPACE button and select one of the listed methods. "Zero-Out deleted files" should do the trick and the data will be overwritten and unrecoverable by normal means like data recovering software.

Thanks! I will try that now. Another question do you think $150 is a good selling price? since the cd/dvd drive doesn't work.

cheers.

www.mac2sell.net and eBay are good comparison tools and as there have been many 20" G5 iMacs and the last G5 iMac would still fetch over 300 USD, I don't know.
