imac g5 help

[misguided]

I ran disk utility and this is the message i received.

Volume Header needs minor repair
The volume The volume sh HD needs to be repaired.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit

It won't let me repair the disk . i tried booting with the install disk and it still won't let me repair it.

Any advice would be appreciated

i'm using osx 10.4.5 with a gig of ram

Sounds like a job for fsck. It might get further.

If it still works fine then you shouldn't worry about it, I used to get that before it started up..

You could just re-install the OS and you won't get that...

Maybe go to System Preferences and head to the Startup Disk pane. Make sure your internal drive is selected.
