iMac G5 light update

Received the Light Updater via Software update last night and ran on my iMac G5 running 10.3.9. Everything ran as stated - fans ran at full-speed for about a minute. Then needed to restart. So far, so good
When the mac came back up, my wireless keyboard & mouse would not work. When checking, no Bluetooth was available (which I had before).
Calling Apple support only told me to zap the Pram (Cmd-Option-P-R) and zap/reset the Firmware (Cmd-Option-O-F) -- which would be fine if the keyboard worked. I am getting a usb-keyboard today to try resetting things -- Apple acted surprised that this problem would be caused by the update.
Anyone out there had any problems with this updater? Any one have any clues as to what happened, or how to fix?

This doesn't help you at all, but my brother, who also had an iMac G5 with Apple BT keyboard and mouse, has had the problem you describe happen to him periodically for no readily apparent reason. He never has figured out why, so far as I know, but he has a wired mouse in a drawer somewhere for just such an occasion. Not sure if this is specific to the iMac, OSX, or a general issue with wireless peripherals.

I have an iMac G5 with internal bluetooth, along with an Apple Wireless Keyboard/Mouse and I didn't have any trouble after I ran the update. All I had to do was turn both the keyboard and mouse off and then turn them back on and they were re-discovered.

I'm sure you've already tried that. I would even take the batteries out and then put them back in. Sounds though like the internal bluetooth module is not picking up for some odd reason.

The update does work though! My light is significantly dimmer.

what is the firmware version after the sleep light update?

My iMac G5 is hosed after the firmware update. Apparently the disk is now not recognized. I'm curious if the update really completed, can you report what version of the firmware you have after the update? Mine is 5.2.2 Nov 2004 I believe.
