i recently bought 12 iMac G5's off of Craigslist and I'm trying to get them working and then resell them. and one of the problems (on 2 of the 20", so far) is that there are bars/lines (and other artifacts) all over the screen

my guess is that this a GPU issue, but it will change (the artifacts) as i move the iMac around and put pressure on given parts of the screen. on one of the iMac's this started to happen and is now just as bad as the other one with i was testing inverters (i was testing screens before hand, which required me to take the midplane in and out of the front casing where the screen is) so my question is 1. what do you guys think is wrong and 2. if its a GPU issue what is the best course of action to take to get it fixed? talk to apple? recommendation for where to get reballed (i think it's called)?
