Hi All

I bought an iMac G5 in 2005 (Ambient Light Sensor) model, I later sold this to a friend.

I was speaking to them earlier and they have bought an Airport Extreme and wish to connect the G5 to this wirelessly.

I vaguely remember in 05/06 that I wanted to connect it to the net wirelessly but I would have needed to buy a card to put into the iMac G5.

I have now looking on the Apple Store and cannot find this wireless card.

My question is, was there a wireless card and have Apple stopped selling this? Or do I have real issues with my memory.

Any help would be appreciated.

Excellent, for the life of me I couldnt remember. I note it is discontinued by Apple, I will try and find a reputable dealer to purchase this from in the UK.

Thank you very much for your help!

Good luck finding anyone who will touch that computer for less than 150 pounds to start with. They are notorious for failing logic boards/power supplies, and GPUS - they have the worst reputation of an Apple product, quality wise. It's not worth the upgrade. A 300 dollar used Mac of some sort would be a better investment.

The iMac G5's with ALS are all supposed to have Airport built in - you don't need any card. Only the original iMac G5's needed it to be purchased separately. If they do indeed have an ALS model, then the wireless card is already in the system.
