iMac Graphics Update speeding up gaming performance?

I just read this article on how the recent graphics update (right after 10.5.2) dramatically improved the gaming performance of Quake on the Mac Pros with the ATI 2600XT graphics cards.

Have you guys noticed any similar improvements on the iMac end?
